The purpose of Rotary Cares is to show our support for Akron Rotary members and their families when dealing with the loss of a loved one, the hardship of illness and also to celebrate the joy of a new baby, job, marriage or other events in their lives. Join us on March 18th in recognizing true leaders in our community. In addition to this year's H. Peter Burg Award Honoree, Roger Read, we will be highlighting our emerging leaders who were the 2019 30 For the Future Award recipients, outstanding women as recipients of the 2019 Women of Achievement awards, and those amazing businesses which won the GAC 2019 Business Awards.
The Annual Meeting includes a silent auction where guests can bid on terrific items and unique experiences, including a North Course Foursome at Firestone Country Club, a Cleveland Browns Suite Experience, a Five-Course Chefs Wine Dinner with Wine Pairing, and a Tiffany Lamp. Wayne Homes is at it again supporting the rotary camp! This year’s Portage Lakes Polar Bear Club Jump benefitted the Akron Rotary Camp and Ronald McDonald House of Akron. This year we had 8 jumpers and one chicken and we raised $785 as a team!!
Akron Rotarians supporting Harvest for Hunger! — attending Harvest for Hunger Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast with Mella Hawk Castner, Julie Brandle, Nichole Major, Lynda C. Farkas and Christina Horak at John S Knight Center.
At our 2020 District Conference there will be a luncheon on Friday, April 24th.
This will take the place of regular Club weekly meeting that week.

District Leadership Assembly

Please join Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Interactors from across the district as we gather at the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls April 24-25, 2020 for our annual Conference of Clubs and District Leadership Assembly. The theme of this year’s conference focuses upon assisting at risk youth and the keynote speaker will be the nationally award winning Summit County Juvenile Court Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio. Watch for registration details in February 2020.
