As you know the Chili Open is our Rotary Club’s largest annual fundraiser to benefit Akron Rotary Camp. The net proceeds supports all of our 1,800 campers who attend camp annually. We are at 74% of our goal of $300,000. Thank you to everyone who has donated, asked, begged, borrowed and stole to help us get where we are! In these final days please consider giving it one more push to push us over the top!
Our exciting Chili Open is only days away – Lynda Farkas and Nichole Major need your help!
Door Prizes and Silent Auction items are needed to create a buzz at the Chili Open. Every attendee receives a complimentary door prize ticket for a chance in drawings held throughout the day. For the 2nd year, our Silent Auction will be by mobile bidding where attendees or non-attendees can bid from their phones.
Suggested donations needed:
Door Prizes – any type of new item that you would like to re-gift. Sleeves of golf balls, golf towels, golf umbrellas, sports hats, candles, boxes of candy, cans of popcorn, movie tickets, gift cards, thumb drives, etc.
Silent Auction – Vacation homes, sporting event tickets, ski package, limo ride, monthly flowers, fitness package, spa package, airline tickets, hotel package, an awesome car for the weekend, spa package, fun experiences, personalized corn hole board set, gift baskets, gift cards to exclusive restaurants, etc.
Please bring your donations to the Rotary Club luncheon on Wednesday, January 29. If you can’t attend the luncheon and have donations, please contact Lynda, Nichole or Mella Castner and they would be happy to make arrangements to pick up your donations.
The silent auction will feature a Wheelbarrow of Good Cheer! Please help us fill it with donations of unopened bottles of spirits and mixers, bar glassware, cocktail napkins, garnishes (olives, cherries, frilly toothpicks, etc.) The winning bidder gets to take home their new wheel barrel along with all of its contents. This was the 3rd top seller in last year’s auction.
Please bring your donations to the Rotary Club luncheon on Wednesday, January 29. If you can’t make the luncheon and have donations, please contact Mella Castner at mellac@akronymca.org or 330-322.7206. Thank you in advance for your donations to help make the Chili Open a continued success to benefit Akron Rotary Camp!
Our club members have been asked to sell a minimum of $200 in raffle tickets. The goal for ticket sales is $58,000. Many have had great success in selling tickets by sending an email solicitation (click here to download) to their family, friends and business colleagues asking for their help in purchasing tickets. Your help in selling or purchasing your raffle tickets will help us to get the car donated from VanDevere.
Please bring any sold raffle tickets to the Rotary Club luncheon on Wednesday, January 29. If you are in need of more tickets to sell, we will have them on hand.
If you are unable to attend the luncheon, please contact Mella Castner to make arrangements to drop them off at Rotary Camp, have them picked up or bring them to the Chili Open.
Thank you in advance to those of you who have sold tickets and those that are still selling.
