The Rotary Club of Akron and the Akron Rotary Foundation have had a long history of community involvement.  Both the Club and the Foundation are dedicated to bettering the lives of others both locally and globally.  To this end, the Rotary Club of Akron has its own Youth Exchange Program and has sponsored the University of Akron Rotaract Club.

The Akron Rotary Foundation enhances the education of its area youths through scholarships, which are given away each year to the outstanding senior students in the eleven Akron high school schools and the local vocational schools.

The members of the Club work effortlessly to enhance the greater Akron community through numerous service projects with United Way, The Salvation Army, The Akron-Canton Foodbank, Rise Against Hunger, Ronald McDonald House and many others.

The Akron Club also owns and operates The Rotary Camp for Children with Special Needs.  Through the efforts of many Rotarian volunteers and donations, the camp successfully allows these children a traditional "summer camp" experience.
